READ

I love the Lord, because he has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy.

(Psalm 116:1)

This God who loves us and gave Himself up for us hears our prayers and our pleas. We approach Him as we would a loving parent. Parents listen to the desires of their children and, out of love for them, parents answer their children with their best interest in mind. This means children may not get exactly what they asked. A loving parent will always put a child’s health and well-being at the center of their actions. So it is with our heavenly Father. We praise and thank Him for loving us enough to answer our prayers according to His perfect will, which is always for our best interest.

REFLECT

When is it difficult for you to include in your prayers, “Thy will be done?”

RESPOND

Prayer: Thank You, heavenly Father, for hearing my prayers. Thank You especially for answering my prayers according to You will, which is always best for me. Give me a heart and mind to accept Your will. I pray this in the name of Jesus, who always carried out Your will.  Amen.
