READ

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (I John 1:9).

We certainly are not all that faithful in our relationship with Jesus. We fall into sin as we seek to serve our own desires. Even in the face of our unfaithfulness, the Lord remains faithful. He promises forgiveness to all who repent and return to Him—and He keeps that promise. He forgives our sin and cleanses us from all our unrighteousness (I John 1:8-9). There is no sin too big for the Lord to forgive. There is no sin committed too often for Him to forgive. No matter who we are, where we’ve been, and what we’ve done, the blood of Jesus cleanses us of all our sin, and shame, and guilt.

REFLECT

Are you faithfully repenting of your sin, with confidence in the Lord’s gift of forgiveness?

RESPOND

Prayer: Blessed Lord, thank You for the gift of Your forgiveness. By the power of Your Holy Spirit, enable me to repent of my sin and rejoice in Your forgiveness. I pray in Your faithful name.  Amen.
