READ

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

 (Ephesians 2:8-9)

What is “grace?” Grace is simply defined as “getting what we don’t deserve.” What is it that we truly receive, but don’t deserve? The answer is forgiveness, life, and salvation. Because the mercy of Jesus moved Him to take our place on the cross, we receive the blessings of forgiveness and heaven. We have done nothing to receive His blessed gifts. It is only the love of God that gives us new and eternal life. This is the grace of the Lord.

REFLECT

How has God’s grace impacted Your relationship with Him and with those in your circle of influence?

RESPOND

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I am both amazed and thankful for the forgiving grace You shower on me and all humanity. By Your Holy Spirit, keep me ever prepared to share Your grace with those around me.  I pray and I live in Your powerful name, O Jesus. Amen.
