READ

But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect (I Peter 3:15).

I’ve heard so many people say they could never be a witness for Jesus because they wouldn’t know what to say. Perhaps these people picture witnessing as going door-to-door, asking strangers if they know Jesus. Witnessing is mostly done in our relationships. Perhaps someone asks us how we navigated a difficult situation. We respond by telling them how our faith gave us hope and help. At the loss of a loved one we assure others that faith in Jesus brings us to heaven. Witnessing is simply telling your story of your relationship with Jesus.

REFLECT

Have you ever had the opportunity to simply tell someone how your faith moved you through a challenging situation?

RESPOND

Prayer: O Holy Spirit, thank You for the faith You planted in my heart through Baptism and thank You for feeding my faith through the Word and the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Keep me strong in faith so I can be ready to simply tell my story. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
