READ

If you love me, you will keep my commandments (John 14:15).

We certainly love Jesus. He lived the perfect life for us. He died on the cross to pay the price of our sin and to bring us forgiveness. He rose with the promise that all who believe in Him will not perish, but have eternal life with Him in heaven. Yes, we love Him for all He has done, and continues to do, for us. And now He calls us to respond to His love by walking in His commands. We are called to respond to the love of God by holding His commands near and dear to our hearts. We spend time in His Word so we may know His commands and find the strength to walk in them.

REFLECT

How often are you in the Word of God?

RESPOND

Prayer: Grant to me, O Lord, a heart that longs to be in Your Word that I may know Your will and gladly walk in it. I ask this through Jesus, who carried out Your will on my behalf.  Amen.
