READ

You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord. (Leviticus 19:18)

How sad it is when Christian congregations find themselves in conflict. So many congregations find themselves arguing over matters that are less than serious. The color of carpet, the times of Bible classes, the type of seating in the sanctuary can be the beginning of battles and the finish of friendships. Holding grudges never enhance our relationships—they destroy them. The Lord’s call is for the Christian to love, not to fight.

REFLECT

With whom do you need to find healing and peace?

RESPOND

Prayer: Lord Jesus, bless our congregation and all Christian churches that we may live in harmony and provide a positive witness to our communities. I pray this in Your holy and precious name.  Amen.
