The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing (Zephaniah 3:17).
The Old Testament people, who often found themselves in the midst of many challenges, some of which they brought upon themselves, are reminded that the Lord is always in their midst. We are given the same promise. Like a parent, the Lord takes no pleasure when a child is in pain or peril. His love moves Him to use all things in our lives to bring us closer to Him in faith and trust. In the moments of joy and celebration, we give Him thanks for His many blessings. In moments of fear and worry we call upon Him to give us strength and patience as we trust HIm to guide us.
REFLECT
How does Your faith in the Lord guide you through blessings, as well as challenges?
RESPOND
Prayer: Heavenly Father, give me the spiritual wisdom to understand Your faithfulness and to trust in Your keeping of my heart, mind, and soul. I pray this in the holy and powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
