READ

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105).

The maps we find on our phones have made travel much easier. We put in the address of our destination and the GPS system plans the quickest and safest route. The psalmist gives us a similar scenario. God’s Word is a map for our lives. This is not a map of directions for us to follow so we can attain eternal life in heaven. Jesus journeyed the way of sorrows for our salvation. The road we travel is one of following Jesus, joining Him as we praise the Father and care for those around us. The Word of the Lord guides us in paths of righteous living, which serves the Lord as we serve others.

REFLECT

Are you enjoying your journey of service that the Lord has mapped out for you?

RESPOND

Prayer: Grant to me, O Lord, a heart that longs to be in Your Word that I may know Your will and gladly walk in it. I ask this through Jesus, who carried out Your will on my behalf.  Amen.
