READ

So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him (I John 4:16).

“God is love.” This is a small phrase that encapsulates the entirety of God. It is His love that moved Him to intentionally create you. His love carried Him to Calvary’s cross that you may be forgiven. His love is preparing a place for you in His heavens. Have you noticed how the word “love” is used in a very flippant manner these days. We love pizza. We love our dog. We love our spouse and our children. We love our favorite sports teams. When God uses the word “love” He refers to His people. When He uses the word “love” He has you in mind.

REFLECT

When is the last time you stopped to reflect on the depth of God’s love for you?

RESPOND

Prayer: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, by Your love You created me, redeemed me, and called me into faith. Keep me mindful of Your love for me, especially in days I question my value. I pray in Your name and to Your glory. Amen.
