READ

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes (Romans 1:16).

We are told that conversations should steer clear of politics and religion. These are two subjects that will often cause divisions and arguments. There are some who are thankful for this advice, not because of the divisions they cause, but because they are a bit embarrassed to talk about their faith. They don’t want to be categorized as religious fanatics, so they remove themselves from the conversation when it turns to religion. They don’t want people to think they are intolerant, so they say nothing when the subject of religion pops up. Let’s not be ashamed to be followers of Jesus. Let’s engage the conversation in a respectful way, simply sharing the joy of knowing Jesus.

REFLECT

Are you embarrassed about letting others know about your faith in Jesus?

RESPOND

Prayer: Holy Spirit, You are the giver of the life of faith. Give me a heart that is comfortable letting my light shine before others that I may be a positive witness. I pray this through Jesus, the Light of Life.  Amen.
