When Life Doesn’t Go Your Way

AS WE GATHER: You don’t have to get too far into your average day before something doesn’t go your way. Bad traffic, missed meetings, sick kids, health issues: the list could go on and on. We want things to go our way, but this week we are reminded to embrace humility, which means putting others’ needs before our own. This doesn’t mean we neglect our needs, but we are willing to put them aside to meet the needs of others, just as Jesus demonstrated when he gave up his glory on high to come low and rescue us from the brokenness of our humanity. We follow Jesus in humility when life gets hard!
