Giving Thanks

AS WE GATHER on these Wednesdays in Lent, our worship theme is “Christian Characteristics.”  We will explore the characteristics God’s people in the pages of the New Testament displayed.  We are called to carry forward with these same characteristics of faith.  Today we learn to be thankful in every circumstance and situation.

Sitting with Jesus

As we gather in this season of Lent our worship theme is, “Life with Christ.” Today our topic is, “Sitting with Jesus.” Jesus and His disciples sat across from the Temple watching the people arrogantly placing their offering into the Temple treasury. When a poor woman placed her small offering into the treasury Jesus said, they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, all she had to live on. We learn the joys of trusting the Lord and living generously.

Courageous Living/Love Others

As we gather on these Wednesdays in Lent, our worship theme is “Christian Characteristics.” We will explore the characteristics God’s people in the pages of the New Testament displayed. We are called to carry forward with these same characteristics of faith. Today we study the “Courageous Living” we have as we daily live our faith in Christ Jesus.

Walking With Jesus

As we gather in this season of Lent our worship theme is, “Life with Christ.” We will journey through the Gospels to see the love of Christ that rescued us from the stain of sin, the grip of the grave and the gates of hell. We also learn from Jesus how to navigate this life as we live with the promise of life eternal by faith in Him. Today our topic is, “Walking with Jesus.” During a walk with Jesus, the disciples argued as to which of them was greatest. Jesus instructed, If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all. In this culture of self-promotion we are taught the true attitude of a child of God—humility. We learn how to serve as we have been served by Jesus.

Focus

AS WE GATHER: Ash Wednesday begins the season of Lent. In ancient times, ashes and dust were associated with repentance and with the recognition of our own mortality. Today we repent, recognizing that sin infects and affects us every single day. But even as we repent, we know and believe that Jesus suffered and died to pay the price for our sins! So as you receive the imposition of ashes today, remember that you are dust and to dust you shall return…but that Jesus died to bring you forgiveness and life! Our theme for these Wednesdays in Lent is “Christian Characteristics.” Today we study the “focus” we have as we daily live our faith in Christ Jesus.

Eternal Life

As we gather our current worship theme, “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Joy,” reminds us that only in Jesus can we have the life the Lord intended for us to live. We conclude this series under the theme, “Eternal Life.” What joy is ours in knowing, with all confidence, that Jesus prepares a place for us in His heavens.

Sharing Life

As we gather, our current worship theme, “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Joy,” reminds us that only in Jesus can we have the life the Lord intended for us to live. This weekend our theme is “Sharing Life.” As followers of Jesus we have been called to “let our light shine.” None of us have been called to “keep the Faith” to ourselves. We have been called to “share the faith.”

“Living the Difference” New Life

AS WE GATHER our current worship theme, “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Joy,” reminds us that only in Jesus can we have the life the Lord intended for us to live. Today we celebrate the “New Life” that Jesus, the Good Shepherd, gives to His sheep. The abundance Jesus gives is drastically different than that of the world.
