Truth on Trial

AS WE GATHER we put truth on trial. Can Jesus stand up to the pressures and assaults and questions of the world? Jesus submitted himself to a trial with Pilate, and Pilate famously asked, “What is truth?” Jesus showed him and the world that truth is able to withstand anything the world can throw at it. And when we live under the True King, so can we.

TRUTH: The Grave Truth

AS WE GATHER we hear Jesus announce that He is “the way, and the truth, and the life,” and that no one comes to the Father except through Him. On a road map we can find many different roads that lead to the same place, except on certain islands. There is only one bridge and one way to get a vehicle onto the island. Jesus teaches this truth, “I am the way… no one comes to the Father except through me.” Heaven is opened for those who live and believe in Jesus. The grave truth is that there are not many ways…only one. This truth of God needs to be shared. Although there is only way, everyone is invited to join in the journey.

TRUTH: Relatively Speaking

AS WE GATHER we consider the place of truth in our lives, we are confronted by a culture of “relative” truths. It seems our culture encourages us to decide what is true for ourselves. Having a personal truth sounds comfortable and convenient, but what happens when our personal truths collide with God’s truth?

Why TRUTH Matters

AS WE GATHER we begin our series “TRUTH: The Ultimate Reality Check!” Today we come to understand “why” truth matters in our daily lives. Truth is foundational for us because it affects our daily lives--our attitudes and actions. When we live in the truth, we live in the light. We are called into faith that we may live out the truth in each of our relationships.
