An Amazing Inheritance!

As we gather in worship celebrating this season with our families, many of us have been “adopted” into new families.  Through marriage, friendship, and extended family we find ourselves absorbed into new family paradigms.  In Galatians we are reminded that we are adopted into a new family.  Because of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit, we are adopted and made a part of God’s family.  Talk about a family reunion!  All our adopted brothers and sisters, who have this common faith in Jesus, cry out to God, “Abba, Father.”  You are a precious child of God.

I Always Get the Same Thing for Christmas

As we gather on this day of joy and peace, our hearts rejoice at the mystery of Christmas. God has come to us as the quiet infant of Bethlehem. This loving God who created us came into our sinful world. As Lord and Savior, He lived the perfect life for us, died on the cross to forgive our sins, and rose from the grave to open for us life eternal. Today we join the angels, who sing the praise of our God, who comes in the flesh to bring peace through sins forgiven and joy through life eternal!

People of the Plan

The Plan.  Our Heavenly Father has a plan for the world and for us that defies comprehension.  And on this holy night, we celebrate the beauty of His plan, a plan that meant sending His Son Jesus into the flesh, born of the Virgin, so that He might be the Savior that we all need.  Rejoice that God has a plan for your salvation through faith in Jesus, and rejoice that He has a plan for your life now and forever.

Heading Home

As we gather in this cold and wintry season, there are times when the snow is falling and the roads are snow packed that getting home is both a joy and relief.  Home is a destination, a place of comfort.  Today we are reminded that this earthly life we lead is temporary, are homes and our bodies are only temporary.  There will be a time when we will be able to live in the presence of the Savior… for eternity.  Home in God’s mansion with many rooms.  I can’t wait to get home.

Home Away from Home

As we gather in worship during these weeks of Advent our worship series, Home Is Where the Heart Is, reminds us that Jesus made His home here, taking on human flesh, for us.  As Jesus ascended to His Heavenly Home, we are reminded that is ultimately our home, too.  But while we wait for Jesus to return, He has made His church here our Home Away from Home.

The Heart of the Matter

As we gather in worship during these weeks of Advent our worship series, Home Is Where the Heart Is, will remind us that the love of Christ redeems us that we may live in Him today as we await the home in heaven that He has prepared for us. Today we are called to understand that Jesus is real life and eternal life. He is The Heart of the Matter.

The Message

Thanksgiving is in the past and Advent begins today.  What a time of joy and gladness.  Family, friends, food, and our faith.  We are thankful for so many blessings.  Throughout December, our gladness continues as we go to the house of the Lord, preparing for the coming of our Lord, not only as the babe in the manger, but for that day Jesus will return.  May we come with joy and awe to the house of the Lord!

From our Glory to His Glory

As we gather we continue our Generosity Journey .  We journey From our Glory to His Glory.  The point is very simple.  We share with others not so that we might be praised and honored, but so that those we share with might give God the praise and honor that He so richly deserves.

The Generosity Journey: Earning to Receiving

As we gather we begin a new worship series based on II Corinthians 9:4-15, entitled, The Generosity Journey.  In these three weeks we will hear how richly we have been blessed by the Lord, who indeed is the Giver of every good and perfect gift.  Today our theme is From Earning to Receiving.  Freedom comes when we learn that all we have and all we are is simply a gift from the hand of a gracious, generous God.

A Surprising Neighbor

As we gather in worship this week we conclude our worship series, Surprising Stories of Mercy and Grace.
Today we are presented with the parable of “The Good Samaritan,” allowing us to examine our lives as neighbors to others.
