Salt & Light

As we gather in worship during these summer months our worship series is “The Greatest Sermon Ever.”  This series is based on Jesus’ “Sermon on the Mount,” recorded in Matthew, chapters 5 – 7.  In this series we find the Lord’s guidance on living our lives as He intended that we would have joy and peace in our relationships with Him and one another.  Today’s sermon is based on Matthew 5:13-16, where Jesus calls us to be Salt & Light.”

More than a Memorial Day Ebenezer

As we gather: We use memorials to identify a special person or location where something happened.  In today’s Old Testament Reading Samuel raises a stone and calls it Ebenezer.  We may think it is awkward to name a stone, Yet this name has a significant meaning, “Till now the Lord has helped us.”  We have symbols of the faith that serve as memorial reminders of what Christ has done for us!  We don’t call them Ebenezer, but these symbols send a different message that we all need to remember!

The Message

As we gather in worship and praise, we are reminded that in our Sunday afternoon confirmation worship service, 28 young people will make public profession of their God-given faith and commit to serving the Lord as active members of His Church.  In this service, we too, will recommit ourselves to being an active part of the church.

Mary and Martha: Sit down!

As we gather we are blessed to celebrate Mother’s Day today, thanking our God for the incredible gift of our moms.  Our theme for the day, including the sermon theme and text, reminds us that in the midst of our crazy and chaotic lives, “one thing is necessary”: learning from Jesus!

What if…we put Faith above Fear?

AS WE GATHER:  “What if…we put faith above fear?”  Fear is a part of life in this sinful, fallen world.  But trust in God drives away fear!  When, by God’s grace, we are able to trust Him, we need not fear anything, because He is Lord of all.  We are free to live confidently and generously, knowing that He will take care of all of our needs.  God grant us such faith!

What If…We Put Others Before Ourselves?

AS WE GATHER:   “What if?”   As we continue our series, today we contemplate “What if…we put others before ourselves?”  The call to discipleship is a call to service.  As we serve our neighbor, we serve Jesus.  In the midst of a self-centered culture, God help us to put others before ourselves!

What If We Put God First?

As we gather in worship of the risen Lord Jesus our current series is, “What If…?”  We will see how life can be meaningful and fulfilling when it is not lived only for one’s self, but lived in our faith relationship with the Lord.  This week our theme is, “What If We Put God First?”

I AM the Resurrection and the Life

Welcome to our rejoicing community as we celebrate the Good News of Christ’s Resurrection! The stone has been rolled away and the grave is empty. Christ is risen! Our Savior has overcome sin, death, the devil and hell for us.  And we are assured that not only has Jesus risen, but when He returns on the Last Day, He will raise all the dead.   Because Christ lives, we too will live forever!  Alleluia!

We Have Met the Enemy

As we gather we approach the Lord’s Table with humble, repentant hearts, receiving the true Body and the true Blood of Jesus with the bread and the wine.  As we partake in this Sacrament we thank the Lord who imparts to us the forgiveness of sins, a strengthening of faith and the promise of life eternal.
