Ask Seek Knock

AS WE GATHER Ask.  Seek.  Knock.  All strong words that require diligence, focus, and follow through.  Jesus uses these words in connection to praying to our Heavenly Father.  Not all of us are natural prayer warriors, yet we are told that we should ask, seek, and knock.  Taking time to ask God to help us in our daily lives, seeking to discern God’s answer of yes, no, or maybe, and knocking persistently knowing that God does hear our prayers

The Message

AS WE GATHER in worship during these summer months our worship series is “The Greatest Sermon Ever.”  This series is based on Jesus’ “Sermon on the Mount,” recorded in Matthew, chapters 5 – 7.  In this series we find the Lord’s guidance on living our lives as He intended that we would have joy and peace in our relationships with Him and one another.  How easy it is for us to judge others.  The Lord warns us about being more ready to judge that to forgive.  Remembering that Jesus calls us to repentance and forgiveness, so we call others to that same joy and privilege.

Treasures in Heaven

As we gather: Have you seen the show “Hoarders”?  It’s about people who are afflicted with the need to accumulate and keep stuff, even garbage.  Afraid to throw anything away, they see their personal worth in the things that they have.  It’s sad to watch.  And, unfortunately, its not an uncommon thing.  Many, many more of us – even if we’re not hoarders – struggle with collecting things that we neither need nor are useful for life.  Instead, they are a

Prayer and Fasting

AS WE GATHER  Prayer should be a part of our daily lives.  As a conversation with God it may feel one sided, but He calls us to lift up our concerns, sins, and thanksgiving to Him!  He speaks to us through the truth of His Word.  We know what God wants not because of a gut feeling or logic, but because God’s Word teaches it.  It’s not a one sided conversation.  God is telling you exactly what we need through the Bible.  God desires to hear from us and to know Him.

The Greatest Sermon Ever: Jesus Fulfilled the Law For Us!

As we gather in worship we are privileged to have preaching for us this weekend Pastor Salam Solomon Ayagri.  Pastor Solomon is a pastor in Ghana, West Africa, and has been a partner with FIL in the last few years as we’ve sent mission teams to support his work.  Pastor Solomon and his wife Georgina are good friends with the Kelms, as he was the Kelms’ pastor when they did their vicarage in Ghana in the late 1990’s.  Please welcome this missionary pastor, our partner in the Gospel!
