Frequently Asked Questions

Are there other times to come to church?

Special worship services including Lent, Advent, Ascension, Thanksgiving, etc. are scheduled throughout the year. The church sanctuary is available most times throughout the week during regular office hours for prayer.

When should I arrive?

If you arrive 5-15 minutes prior to the service, this will give you plenty of time to park and find a seat.  If you are visiting for the first time, the Pastor can usually be found in the Fellowship Hall or Narthex area. Please feel free to introduce yourself.

Where do I park?

Parking lots are available at both First Immanuel and River of Life.  First Immanuel has a small parking lot on the west side that we keep available for the elderly and/or handicapped. At First Immanuel you may also park in the Cedarburg High School parking lot.

What do I wear?

Don’t stress over what to wear! If you’re casual, come casual.  Or, if you like your Sunday Best–wear that!  We don’t care.  We just want you to be comfortable.  So, it’s not unusual to see the whole spectrum at any service.

What’s a service experience like at First Immanuel?

Each worship service lasts around 60 minutes and will include singing, an offering, a few announcements and a great message with real-life illustrations and challenges.  We’ll have a time of prayer, and rotate communion throughout the month between services. The exception is 9:00 am River of Life service where communion is offered every week.

What about the kids?

We encourage families to worship together and children are welcome at all services.  Children’s Messages are part of the service at all non-communion services. A Cry Room is available in the southwest corner of the First Immanuel sanctuary. Nursery Care is offered in the Extended Day Care room directly across from the coat rack hallway at the 10:35 am service at First Immanuel. Sunday School is available at 9:00 am at both First Immanuel and River of Life.

What else can I do at First Immanuel on the weekends?

There is usually a flurry of activity at First Immanuel on the weekends and during the week. From Bible Studies to Family Volleyball Night there are many, many opportunities to grow closer to God and enjoy the fellowship of others. Check out the calendar.
